How to Downgrade iPhone 4S, iPad2 , iPad3 Using Redsn0w - Downgrading A5 Devices Using Redsn0w
iPhone Dev-Team has just released an update to Redsn0w with the capability of Downgrading iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3. This method of downgrading works on all A5 devices on the condition that SHSH blobs are saved. If you have saved the shsh blobs for your A5 device, iPhone 4S or iPad 2 you can downgrade your device. We are not considering iPad 3 in this downgrade tutorial as it comes stocked with iOS 5.1 and it is not possible to downgrade any device without having their shsh blobs saved.
Lets Begin The Downgrade
Step 1 : Download Redsn0w : Redsn0w
iOS 5.0.1 Firmware : iPhone 4S iPad 2
iOS 5.1 Firmware : iPhone 4S iPad 2
iOS 5.0.1 Firmware : iPhone 4S iPad 2
iOS 5.1 Firmware : iPhone 4S iPad 2
Step 2 : Extract the content from the downloaded archive and launch Redsn0w
Step 3 : Go to Extras Options In Redsn0w

Step 5 : Click on the Restore to an ipsw button.
Step 6 : Click IPSW and select the ipsw firmware that you want to downgrade your device to.
Step 7 : Redsn0w will inform your that additional iPSW is required. Make a note of the IPSW mentioned in the message and press OK.
Step 8 : Select the IPSW that was mentioned by Redsn0w in Step7
Step 9 : iPhone 4S Users will be warned that if you continue, your baseband will be updated to the latest version. If you want the best chances of unlocking your phone in the future you should not continue. If you do not care about an unlock click the YES button.
Step 10 : Your device will be placed into recovery mode.
Step 11 : You should now select your blobs for restore. You can choose to specify local blobs or remote blobs.
REMOTE BLOBS
- Choose this option if you previously saved your blobs with RedSn0w and they were stored on the Cydia server. This is the easiest option if it's available to you.
LOCAL BLOBS
- Choose this option if you previously saved your blobs with TinyUmbrella or you used RedSn0w but did not let Cydia save a copy of your blobs.
- After clicking Local you will be prompted to select your saved blob file for the firmware you are downgrading to. If you used TinyUmbrella, simply navigate to your home folder and go into the .shsh folder with your saved SHSH blobs. Select the file that matches the ECID displayed in RedSn0w and the firmware version you are downgrading to, then click Open.
Step 12 : Redsn0w will now restore your iPhone4S/iPad
