Earlier this month we shared the images of Apple's new iPad getting the tear down treatment from iFixit. Today we are sharing the images of the new Apple TV which was released along with the new iPad 3 on 7th March by Tim Cook. The tear down reveals that the new A5X processor doesn't require cooling like its predecessor did.

Lets have a look at the images...

No thermal pad, which could mean that the new A5 processor doesn't get as hot as earlier model used to.

Thermal plate under the metal heat sink that sits just above the processor has a major role in cooling down the processor.

Broadcomm BCM4330, the very same chip which is used in the new iPad. It appears that there are two antennae. It is likely that Apple added a second antenna after receiving complaints regarding low signal.

To Wrap Up:

There are six parts in a very easy-to-dissemble case.

The Apple TV has a separate power supply, which is easy to get to and replace.

No glue, thermal paste holding things in place...

The logic board contains all the components, which means if something breaks, it could be expensive to replace.

iFixit Tears Down The New Apple iPad

iFixit, well known for repairing and tearing down devices so that they can be fixed has just begun ripping off Apple's latest device, The New iPad. iFixit tweeted with a picture of the new iPad which for sure means that they have started exploring the insides of Apple's technology behind the new iPad.

iFixit has begun tearing down the new iPad and has confirmed that the Retina Display is indeed supplied by Samsung Electronics. Well, this means that a major portion of Apple's iPad revenue is going into Samsung's pockets. iFixit is now exploring the battery of the new iPad and lets see what they have to say about it. Earlier reviews of the new iPad suggest that there is a delay in iPad's battery getting charged. More over, some review have suggested the iPad getting heated up when left for charging. Hmm, doesn't sound like apple
