Apple To Make Baidu As Default iOS Search Engine For China

Apple To Make Baidu As Default iOS Search Engine For China

Apple-Baidu-Search
Bloomberg reports that Apple is about to announce Baidu as default search engine for iOS devices in China. The announcement would be made as early as next week following the fact that Baidu is China's most used web search engine. Over 80% of China population uses Baidu for searching web. The decision to make it as default search engine will have definite reactions on Apple's relationship with Google.
A deal with Baidu, which handles about 80 percent of China’s Internet search queries, fits with a plan by Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook to gain a bigger toehold in the largest mobile-phone market. It also gives users an alternative to Google Inc., which competes with Apple in the market for mobile software and advertising.

The decision of Apple to make Baidu will definitely help both Apple and Baidu in their own means. Apple will benefit from providing users the most used search engine so that they don't need to change the search engine every time they use safari and Baidu will benefit from huge traffic that will directly come from Apple device which account 20% of sales in China.
This is definitely going to help Baidu,” said Joshua Maa, chief executive officer at Madhouse Inc., an advertising company in Shanghai that specializes in marketing on mobile devices. The deal will boost Baidu’s wireless advertising business, he said.

Pod2G Jailbreaks iPad 3 On iOS 5.1 - Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 5.1 Achieved

Pod2G Jailbreaks iPad 3 On iOS 5.1 - Untethered Jailbreak For iOS 5.1 Achieved

Pod2g has just announced on twitter that successful untethered jailbreak of the iPad 3 on iOS 5.1. Now he will try to jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 using the same exploits he discovered a week ago.

Here's what Pod2g tweeted

Hey. iPad 3,1 running iOS 5.1 untethered. Next on the list: stabilizing the payload, then trying 5.1.1. If it works on iPad 3 and iPhone 4, I can say it'll work on any device. The ATV3 may be out tho…
Last week, pod2g announced that he had performed an untethered jailbreak of the iPhone 4 on iOS 5.1 Pod2g has been working collaboratively with Chronic Dev-Team and iPhone Dev-Team to achieve a successful untethered jailbreak on iOS devices.

The New iPad, was surprisingly jailbroken on the day of launch and the iPhone Dev-Team made an official announcement that the new iPad was jailbroken using three different methods wisely by i0n1c, pod2g and one by musclenerd himself. Later i0n1c refused to share his jailbreak method for some reasons and we were left out with pod2g method and musclenerd method of iOS 5.1 untethred jailbreak And from time to time we’ve been hearing a lot from the dev teams regarding the status of the jailbreak, but so far, we haven’t seen a public release of any sorts which can untether jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new 3rd-gen iPad on the latest firmware. The new untethered jailbreak that will be made publicly available will jailbreak all iOS devices including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3 and the iPods. Once Pod2g achieves an untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1 running on iPad 3, we can expect the jailbreak to release/

Apple's iOS vs Google's Android - OS Wars

Earlier we discussed that Apple generates more revenue than Android and Amazon. Seems like Apple is the most preferred mobile and tablet brand by corporates and companies. Its not just the flexibility that we are considering here in comparing the two Giants of Mobile operating platforms. We are taking into consideration the reliability, overall performance of device including software and hardware, application support on the device, how often it crashes, popularity among general population, stability.

If the above attributes are taken into consideration, any one with basic knowledge about smart phones can say that Apple is the best and iPhone 4S and iPad 3 is the pinnacle where technology meets excellence. The benefits of using iOS and how well it is integrated with other Apple products takes the overall experience to a next level. The article published on Apple's website - iPhone At Work gives and insight on how to organize your business life by using an iPhone. The following is the listing of most popular device.

According to a press release by Good technology, as per a survey conducted by them on most activated tablet and smartphone. The survey showed surprising results. There is no comparison between activation that take place for iOS devices when compared with Android. iOS activation are far more compared to android. Most activations take place for iPhone 4S and iPad 2. From the below chat, it is very clear that iOS leads the market with highest number of activations. What's astonishing is that Google's Android is no where in comparison to Apple's iOS.

Android Tablet vs iOS Tablet - Apple Smartphone vs Android Smartphone

So even after segregating the total figures into Tablet and Smartphone, we can see that iOS Smartphone is leading the market followed by iOS tablet and then Android smartphone. From the above comparison, its very clear that Apple is indeed the market leader and is more preferred over Android.

Google CEO - "Steve Jobs Anger Over Android Was Actually For Show"

Larry Page Shares His Experiences With Apple CEO Steve Jobs

Larry page's interview at bloomberg steve jobs anger against android

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Google CEO Larry Page shared his moments with Steve Jobs and spoke about Steve Jobs rivalry with Android. Here is what the interview was all about

According to the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson, when you became CEO you went to Jobs for advice. I know you had your differences at the end around Android, but what did you take from him as a mentor and a friend?

I think the Android differences were actually for show. I had a relationship with Steve. I wouldn't say I spent a lot of time with him over the years, but I saw him periodically. Curiously enough, actually, he requested that meeting. He sent me an e-mail and said: "Hey, you want to get together and chat?" I said, "Sure, I'll come over." And we had a very nice talk. We always did when we had a discussion generally.

He was quite sick. I took it as an honor that he wanted to spend some time with me. I figured he wanted to spend time with his family at that point. He had a lot of interesting insights about how to run a company and that was pretty much what we discussed.
steve jobs worth $40 billion
Wait, the fury around Android was for show?

I think that served their interests. For a lot of companies, it’s useful for them to feel like they have an obvious competitor and to rally around that. I personally believe that it’s better to shoot higher. You don’t want to be looking at your competitors. You want to be looking at what’s possible and how to make the world better.

However, what Larry Page said doesn't reflect any similarity with what Steve Jobs said earlier. Steve said in an expletive tone to Walter Isaacson that Android is a stolen product and that he would spend every penny of his $40 Billion to destroy android. Steve jobs said that Google's actions amounted to Grand Theft and that he would ravage a thermonuclear war to correct what is wrong.
