Max Payne Coming Soon To iPhone And iPad

Max Payne Arriving To iOS This April

Rockstar Games is planning to launch Max Payne on iOS on 12th of April. The news comes from Macrumors. Until now Grand Theft Auto was a huge success for the company who have decided to invest further into iOS gaming. Apple iOS market platform offers developers a wide area to attract the customers in various categories like Gaming, Photography, Audio&Video, Entertainment, Spirituality etc. iOS developers enjoy a full 70% of the revenue generated by iAds that are displayed on the iPhones and iPads and iPods.

Following the success of Grand Theft Auto III, Rockstar is all set to re-launch Max Payne for iOS. The updated version of the game would mostly be optimized for the Hi-Res Retina Display of The New iPad and for iPhone 4S and iPhone 4.

This iOS Tweak Lets You Attach Files to iMessages

Attacher Tweak Enables File Transfer Via iMessages

Apple added over 200 updates when it released iOS 5. One of those 200 updates is the application iMessage. This application enables any iOS user to communicate with any other iOS user via messages. The good thing is,  iMessage is free and the bad news is that you cannot attach anything other than images through iMessages. 

Dany Lisiansky, a cydia app developer has created a tweak that enables sending any file through iMessages.

• Send and Receive any attachment with iMessage 
• Open any received attachment. 
• Attach and send any type of file. 
• Record and attach voice memos. 
• "Listen before attaching" switch in Settings > Attacher.

Apple Rejecting Apps That Access UDID Due To Privacy Implications

Apple Begins Regecting Apps For iOS That Access UDID

In a step protect the customers privacy, Apple has started rejecting the iOS applications which seek access to the device's UDID ( Unique Device Identification ). A UDID is something like iMEI number which the network operators use to track the mobile user. This UDID is engraved on the hardware of the iOS devices and cannot be changed. Techcrunch reported that because of the uprise of privacy issues all around the world, Apple has silently started declining the iOS applications that access the UDID in order to deprecate using UDID. 

Apple had previously brought this to the developers that starting from iOS 5, accessing the UDID method should be deprecated and asked developers to stop adding that to their applications. Seems like without giving any further notification to the developers, apple started pulling the apps that access the UDID. This sudden pulling of apps have startled many developers..

“Everyone’s scrambling to get something into place,” said Victor Rubba, chief executive of Fluik, a Canadian developer that makes games like Office Jerk and Plumber Crack. “We’re trying to be proactive and we’ve already moved to an alternative scheme.” Rubba said he isn’t sending any updates until he sees how the situation shakes out in the next few days."

The reason for rejecting apps that use UDIDs is because of the privacy implications for which many companies and developers are getting sued for violating the privacy.  The UDID is also necessary for running ads on the devices. Jim who runs a bidding platform says..

“The UDID is essential for managing the conversion loop,” said Jim Payne, who runs a real-time bidding platform for mobile ads called MoPub and was early at leading mobile advertising network AdMob before it sold to Google for $750 million. “All the performance dollars that are spent on mobile are going to impacted by this not being there.” 

A number of developers are seeing their applications getting pulled over by apple over privacy infringement. More and more developers are getting attracted towards the iOS app market. Lets see what this has an effect on the future growth of iOS apps.

iH8sn0w Claims To Have Downgraded His iPad 2 From iOS 5.1 To 5.0.1

All A5 or A5X Devices Can Be Downgraded According To iH8sn0w

iH8sn0w tweeted today that he was able to downgrade his iPad 2 firmware from iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1. He says that it is possible to downgrade any A5 or A5X device on the condition that shsh blobs are saved. 

As long as the SHSH blobs are saved, it is possible to downgrade the firmware of any A5 device, He claims that it would be possible to downgrade the new A5X devices too once the firmware updates are available. iH8sn0w is the creator and author of various jailbreaking related tools lilke, Sn0wbreeze, iReb, iBooty, iFaith. This is a great news for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users as they no longer need to fear an upgrade every time they restore their device. Generally if  there is any problem with your device the only option to fix it was a clean software restore from iTunes but doing so, the users lose the jailbreak for ever unless otherwise a new jailbreak is out.

Comparing The New iPad's A5X VS Asus Transformer Prime's Tegra 3 Processors

Clash Of The Processors

Earlier this month Apple CEO Tim Cook released the New iPad with a powerful processor and Hi-Res Retina Display. The new iPad is on sale from 16th March and while some power users have managed to tear down to check the hardware, others have compared the performance of the new iPad with its competitors. In this post we'll be comparing Apple's New iPad with Asus's Transformer Prime.

GLBenchmarrk 2.1 

In GLBenchmark 2.1, is a benchmark that tests the quality of gaming, navigation and user interface. The New iPad scored higher. On the program’s Egypt Standard test, which shows a 3D animation of ancient Egypt, the new iPad and its A5X chip processed 6718 frames at a rate of 60 frames-per-second to the Transformer Primer’s 5,939 frames at 53 fps.

Geometric test

The new iPad was way ahead of transformer prime when it came to Geometric test (vertex weighted), which measures low-level shader performance. It processed 7,530,524 frames at a rate of 57 fps while the Tegra 3-based Transformer Prime processed just 3,523,926 at a rate of 27 fps.

Fill Test

During the Fill test, which measures texturing speed, the iPad processed 1.98 billion textels per second to the Prime's 404.61 million. That shows the power of Retina Display.

Gaming Performance

Gaming performance cannot be compared because there is no such benchmark that checks and rates the quality of texture in gaming like FRAPS does for Windows. However a video showcasing both the tablets playing the same game side by side is quite clear but it is very hard to say which device is better when it comes to texture quality.

How To Jailbreak iPhone 4S Using Absinthe Jailbreak

Jailbreaking iPhone 4S  5.0/5.0.1 With Absinthe On Windows

There are two methods of jailbreaking iPhone 4S on 5.0 or 5.0.1 firmware for windows. The first one is the command line method released by the iPhone Dev-Team and the second one is the Absinthe jailbreak tool that was released by Chronic Dev-Team. We will discuss the second, Absinthe method as command line method is not suggestible for users new to jailbreaking.

Please take a back up of your iPhone data as you might lose your photos. So just to be on the safe side, you can restore from the back up in case you lose your photos. You can follow this post to back up your iPhone data. Otherwise proceed with the instructions below to jailbreak your iPhone 4S.

Step 1: Download the latest version of Absinthe

Step 2: Connect your iPhone 4S to the computer and launch Absinthe. Please make sure to remove any password lock if you have along with the vpn settings if you had configured them at all.

Step 3: Click on the jailbreak button in Absinthe and the jailbreak process will begin. Do you interrupt the jailbreak progress and wait for it to complete.

Step 4: After a while Absinthe will inform you that jailbreak is almost done.

Step 5: From the springboard, launch Absinthe to complete the jailbreak process. Once done, your device will reboot and you should now see Cydia on your springboard which means your iPhone 4S jailbreak was successful.
