Pod2g iOS 5.1 Jailbreak Video - Pod2g Demonstrates iOS 5.1 Jailbreak On iPad 3

Pod2g iOS 5.1 Jailbreak Video - Pod2g Demonstrates  iOS 5.1 Jailbreak On iPad 3

Earlier today, Pod2g announced that he achieved a successful untethered jailbreak for iPad 3 running iOS 5.1. He also said that the next challenge would be to achieve untethered jailbreak for iPad 3 running iOS 5.1.1. Just now Pod2g has shared a video demonstrating his successful untethered jailbreak on iPad 3 running iOS 5.1. Lets have a look at the video.

Pod2g has started working on achieving on untethered jailbreak for iPad 3 running iOS 5.1.1. Apple has released iOS 5.1 over a month ago and pod2g along with 2 others, i0n1c and musclenerd has achieved a successful untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 but for some reasons it appears that pod2g is the only jailbreak developer who's been working hard on releasing an untethered jailbreak. Musclenerd is working for iPhone Dev-Team's redsn0w and i0n1c is currently flaunting his jailbreak. He was able to achieve an untethered jailbreak for iPad 3 running iOS 5.1.1 right after its release but he refused to share his jailbreak for some unknown reasons.

The New iPad 3, was surprisingly jailbroken on the day of launch and the iPhone Dev-Team made an official announcement that the new iPad can be jailbroken using three different methods by i0n1c, pod2g and one by musclenerd himself. Later i0n1c refused to share his jailbreak method for some reasons and we were left out with pod2g method and musclenerd method of iOS 5.1 untethred jailbreak And from time to time we’ve been hearing a lot from the dev teams regarding the status of the jailbreak, but so far, we haven’t seen a public release of any sorts which can untether jailbreak iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new 3rd-gen iPad on the latest firmware. The new untethered jailbreak that will be made publicly available will jailbreak all iOS devices including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3 and the iPods. Once Pod2g achieves an untethered jailbreak foriOS 5.1.1 running on iPad 3, we can expect the jailbreak to release.

iOS 5.1 Jailbreak Release Update - Pod2g announces discovery of 2 major vulnerabilities

iOS 5.1 Jailbreak Release Update - Pod2g claims to have discovered 2 major vulnerabilities in iOS

Pod2g announced that he has discovered 2 major vulnerabilities in iOS firmware that could help the jailbreak community. Of the two, 1 venerability according to him is Kernel land and the other one is Root land. He also said that, he feels bad that he needs to keep it as a secret as Apple would patch it, even if they get a slightest clue of the security flaw.

Here's what Pod2g said:
News: a productive week-end. Found 2 big vulnerabilities. 1 kernel land and 1 root land. Too bad I have to be secret again...

iOS 5.1 untether jailbreak release update

Just before weekend, conducted a poll on whether to release the iOS 5,1 untether jailbreak or to keep it safe for iOS 6 release. The results were indicating that over 50,000 Apple enthusiasts want the jailbreak to be released asap.

Last week Pod2g was pretty active on twitter giving various updates about iOS 5.1 untether jailbreak progress.    Pod2g earlier announced that ios 5.1 jailbreak is almost ready and the only challenge in creating a jailbreak was to bypass Apple's ASLR. Very soon we saw another update from Pod2g that he managed to bypass Apple's ASLR in order to jailbreak iOS 5.1. The next update from Pod2g was that although he has managed to bypass Apple' ASLR, there are certain pieces of puzzle that needs to be fixed. Once that is done a public release of iOS 5.1 jailbreak would be made. He informed that the jailbreak could be delayed/postponed for a month or two as too much works needs to be done.

iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak Release Update - Pod2g Conducts A Poll

iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak Release - Pod2G Conducts A Poll

Pod2g, the jailbreak developer who is behind developing Absinthe jailbreak for iPhone 4S has been active on twitter this week by sharing the updates related to iOS 5.1 untether jailbreak release. Apparently, Pod2g has achieved a successful untether jailbreak for iOS 5.1 which works on iPhone 4S too. Earlier this week Pod2g tweeted that untether jailbreak for iOS 5.1 is almost ready and the only challenge is to bypass Apple's ASLR ( Address Space Layout Radomization ) . Then yesterday Pod2g tweeted that iOS 5.1 untether jailbreak release could be delayed for a month or two because of lots of effort that is required to put in, in order to release a stable 5.1 jailbreak.

The latest tweet from Pod2g is different. He wants the iPhone, iPod and iPad users to vote on a poll that has been posted on his blog. The poll seeks the opinion of general public whether to release iOS 5.1 untether jailbreak or to hold it for the release of iOS 6. So far, 57,000 users have taken the poll and out of total, 56% of users were with the opinion that the jailbreak should be released asap for iOS 5.1.

iOS 5.1 Jailbreak Release Delayed For A Month - Pod2g

iOS 5.1 Jailbreak Release Date Delayed For A Month As Tweeted By Pod2g

Couple of days ago, we shared that Pod2g has almost done with the jailbreak iOS 5.1 and that the only challenge that he was facing was bypassing Apple ASLR. Pod2g is an independent jailbreak community contributor and developer who has been working with the Chronic Dev-Team for making jailbreak for iOS and iPhones and iPads. Pod2g has been working on iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak since Apple released iOS 5.1 and for the past couple of days he has been tweeting about the progress of iOS 5.1 Jailbreak.

According to Pod2g the crucial challenge for the jailbreak team to release iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak was bypassing Apple's ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) . A method followed by Apple which messes up with the memory of iOS device right after it restarts. To bypass that Chronic Dev-Team has found a way and couple of days ago Pod2g tweeted that bypassing ASLR has been achieved.

Today Pod2g tweeter on his twitter account that final public release of iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak would be after atleast a month or two. The reason why Chronic Dev-Team could not release 5.1 jailbreak is because there are several pieces of puzzle which need to go in the right place and once the jailbreak team fixed the puzzle, there would be an official announcement of iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak.

Here is what Pod2g tweeted:
